Rhythm worksheet - section iii. Ear Training

In this rhythm worksheet section, there are three short listening tests.

Your assignment is to transcribe (listen to, figure out and write down) each part - rhythm only. Don't worry about melodies or chords.

Track #1 - 2 Drummers Based on an African rhythm, Nanigo.

Track #2 - Christmas Melody There are 3 parts here. All are repetitive, 1-bar each. The basic piano part, is a 2-bar pattern.

Track #3 - Funk Rhythm Section Don't worry about the drum set.

Your goal is to hear the other 4  parts, Bass, Piano, Clavinet & Rhythm Guitar. You will hear the band together, then just bass, then + piano, + clavinet, + rhythm guitar. Then drums are back in.

Try to hear the individual parts while everybody plays - that's the goal!

You will hear 4 clicks before each track begins.

There is a staff beside each mp3 to help you visualize. Write it down on real paper - just the rhythms.

Track #1 - 2 Drummers  (Cowbell, 2 log drums)

Track #2 - Christmas Melody (Acoustic guitar, Steel drum -melody, Piano )

Track #3 - Funk Rhythm Section (Drums, Bass, Piano, Clavinet, Rhythm guitar)
